February I attended the AIA Grassroots Convention in Washington, DC.
It was great to see many familiar faces from 20 years ago
when I was there. The
presentations I attended were on making the local chapters function
better. The issues
ranged from funding to legal to board functions and policies.
I returned with some goals for our Chapter: to tighten up the
way the Board conducts business in order to be more efficient; to
strengthen the Board’s position relative to the various committees
and events that are under the Board’s direction; to adhere to and
be more accountable in our budgeting; and set in motion legal
protections for the Board and the Chapter.
As a Board we are moving forward with these goals. In the current stressful economic times the AIA MB office
will be a clearing house for jobs and office space. Just send your
