AIA Monterey Bay represents more than 120
pracitioners in Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties. Our
mission is to improve the quality of life and the built environment
in the Monterey Bay area and the Salinas Valley by promoting
architecture and design that is sensitive to the user, community and
the environment. We further this goal through community involvement,
education, advocacy, public outreach, member service, and
professional excellence.
AIA Monterey Bay promotes excellence in architecture by coordinating a
biennial design awards program and monthly programs for its members and
members of the public. AIA Monterey Bay co-sponsors public events such
as the Sandcastle Contest in Carmel, community design competitions and
a speakers bureau for schools and community groups. AIA Monterey Bay educates
its members about the latest advances in building methods and
materials, innovative design solutions, governmental regulations and
codes and the legalities of the professional practice. |
